The Governor of Jigawa State, Mallam Umar Namadi, has been highly commended by the Bank of Industry (BOI) for his exemplary leadership and various developmental efforts in the state.
This commendation was made during a visit by the Chairman and Management of the Bank of Industry (BOI), who were in Dutse to offer their condolences following the recent fuel tanker explosion in Majiya, Taura Local Government Area, which resulted in large casualties.
Dr. Mansur Mukhtar, Chairman of the BOI, led the condolence visit and conveyed the deep sympathy of the bank’s management and staff. Dr. Mukhtar emphasized the importance of compassion and solidarity in difficult times such as this.
He also offered prayers for the deceased and their families, stressing the critical role of unity in the face of such tragedy.

In addition to offering condolences, Dr. Mukhtar lauded Governor Namadi for his leadership, particularly the governor’s partnership with BOI.
The collaboration has enabled key developmental projects in Jigawa, such as the establishment of office spaces and the provision of ₦2 billion in matching funds for local businesses, with an additional ₦2 billion allocated for local initiatives.
“I would like to express our gratitude for your strong support to the Bank of Industry,” Mukhtar said.
“The collaboration between Jigawa State and the bank has been fruitful, especially with the provision of office space and N2 billion in matching funds, along with an additional N2 billion to support local initiatives. Your proactive approach has empowered the people of Jigawa to benefit from our programs.”

Mukhtar also recalled the commitment of Governor Namadi to the state’s progress during their meeting in Jeddah when he was with the Islamic Development Bank, noting that the governor’s vision for Jigawa State was both inspiring and practical.
“In a different capacity, I recall your visit to us in Jeddah when I was Vice President of Operations at the Islamic Development Bank. Your engagement there made me proud to witness a governor with a clear vision for his state.
“I thank you for your continued dedication, and I pray Allah guides you in your leadership,” he added.
In response, Governor Namadi expressed deep gratitude to the BOI for their heartfelt condolences and for their continuous support in the development of Jigawa State.
“On behalf of the people and government of Jigawa State, I sincerely thank you, the Chairman, and your team for your condolence visit following the tragic tanker explosion in Majiya. This incident has affected us deeply, and we appreciate your concern and support during this difficult time,” the governor said.
He acknowledged the scale of the tanker explosion tragedy, sharing that 180 people had tragically lost their lives while many more were injured.
The governor also appreciated the BOI’s financial support for the victims’ families and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to economic growth and development.
“I congratulate you and your board for the excellent strides you’ve made since your appointment. The Bank of Industry is on the path to success under your leadership, and we are honored to work alongside you for the benefit of Jigawa State,” Namadi added.
