The assailants burnt down the church building and cars that were packed on the church premises after killing 13 people and their pastor.

The Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād, has attacked Kwari, a town in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State, reported SaharaReporters.

“It is located 177 kilometres away from Damaturu, the state capital, and is about 40 kilometres away from Nigeria/Niger Republic border.

Sources said that the gunmen during the attack killed the pastor of the Church of Christ In Nations (COCIN), Luka Levong.

According to the report, the gunmen burnt down the church, many houses and cars.
