Abuja, Nigeria (EPICSTORIAN) – The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has shared projected Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) prices, commonly known as petrol, sourced from the Dangote Refinery, for its retail outlets nationwide.
NNPC Limited clarified in a statement on Monday, as outlined by the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), that the government does not set PMS prices; rather, and fuel prices are negotiated independently between involved parties.

The oil marketers’ company confirmed it is currently paying the Dangote Refinery in USD for PMS for September 2024.
“NNPC Ltd Releases Estimated Pump Prices of PMS from Dangote Refinery, Based on September 2024 PricingThe NNPC Ltd has released estimated prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as Petrol (obtained from the Dangote Refinery) in its retail stations across the country.
“The NNPC Ltd also wishes to state that, in line with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), PMS prices are not set by Government, but negotiated directly between parties on an arms length.
“Payments in Naira will commence on October 1st, 2024. NNPC Ltd assures the public that if the Dangote Refinery offers any discounts on the quoted prices, they will be fully passed on to consumers,” it added.

The statement includes the estimated PMS pump prices from the Dangote Refinery for all Petroleum stations owned by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company across the country, based on September 2024 rates.
