China Express Association protests US tariff on low-value packages, warning it will burden American consumers and disrupt trade.

China Express Association has condemned the US decision to revoke duty-free treatment for Chinese low-value packages, warning it will disrupt fair trade, raise costs, and affect global shipping.

Representing China’s postal and express delivery industry, the association highlighted that cross-border e-commerce has provided affordable and diverse goods to U.S. buyers.

The shift in policy, it warned, will have a direct impact on households, especially families and younger shoppers who rely on cost-effective international purchases.

“We hope the United States will correct its wrong practice and take necessary measures to create a fair and predictable policy environment for cross-border e-commerce and delivery,” the association stated.

Ending duty-free exemptions will not only drive up costs for American consumers but also strain partnerships between Chinese and U.S. logistics firms.

The association reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining reliable international delivery services, ensuring access to goods at competitive prices.

“We aim to sustain a stable and convenient international delivery system for U.S. consumers through effective cooperation between Chinese and American postal and express enterprises,” it added.
