
Fulani herdsmen and their cows wrecked two hectres of maize farm

A man has lamented over his two hectres of maize farm wrecked by cows belonging to a Group of Fulani herdsmen in Benue State.
The farmer, crying in a footage shared on a Whatsapp group , said the maize farm was all his investment this year.
He expressed disappointment at security officials, adding that he had been threatened twice by the herdsmen before this incident.
The farmer said he earlier reported the presence of the cattle rearers local authorities around the area but no response was given.
Herders openly grazed their cows on all his crops without remorse or second thought, according to him.
“Fulani herdsmen openly gaze on my maize farm which is two hectres, ” he said. ”The maize farm which is supposed to harvest next month towards ending.”
We Didn’t know herdsmen would destroy our entire crops after working hard on it, he says.

The two hectres of farm land , on which the young farmer said he cultivated his favourite maize species, was prepared two months ago.
The farmer and other farm owners said they had waited for the its to start raining more frequently, so that they would go and weed the maize field second time.

But before he woke the next morning his maize farm had been “entirely destroyed by Fulani herders”.
“We planted maize just last month, and it had begun to grow after recent rains,” lamented the farmer in the video.
“But this morning, I found our entire farm destroyed by Fulani herders,” he added.
