Edo, Nigeria, (EPICSTORIAN) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been alerted to allegations of incorrect figures being entered into polling unit result sheets in the ongoing Edo State Governorship election.

INEC released this statement earlier Sunday, revealing it has “received out of the 4,519 polling units across the Edo state.

INEC Promises Thorough Investigation into Election Irregularities

The agency confirmed it will investigate allegations of wrong figures entered into result sheets.

The electoral body reassures the public that any noted irregularities will be addressed decisively.

According to its statement, this marks the second such complaint ‘INEC has received out of the 4,519 polling units across the state.

The electoral body said ‘any proven infractions will be dealt with swiftly in an effort to reinforce the Commission’s commitment to maintaining the credibility and transparency of the election process’.

It emphasized that all cases of electoral fraud will be addressed with the seriousness they deserve, as the integrity of the election is paramount.

The electoral body encourages citizens to report any irregularities observed at polling units, while calling for calm and patience as investigations proceed.
