Israeli PM, Netanyahu, has maintained his position to defend IDF’s operations in the Gaza strip against ICC’s arrest threats.
Netanyahu stated ‘categorically’ that Israel will not “bow to threats from the International Criminal Court (ICC)”.
Also speaking on Friday the prime minister, Banjamin Netanyahu, asserted that his leadership serves to protect the rights of Israeli soldiers and the “world’s Jewish only State”.
He allegedly stated that the International Criminal Court (ICC) seeks to ‘undermine’ the rights of Israeli citizens, especially the rights of soldiers in the IDF.
“Under my leadership, Israel will never accept any attempt by the ICC to undermine its inherent right of self-defense, the prime minister said.
Netanyahu said the investigations by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israel, unfortunately, appears to be a ‘systemic strategy’ to punish Israeli soldiers and officials.
He emphasized that it will be an outrageous threat against, the world’s Jewish only State, Israel which he considers the ‘Middle East’s only democracy’ in the region’.
“The threat to seize the soldiers and officials of the Middle East’s only democracy and the world’s only Jewish state is outrageous.
“We will not bow to it. Israel will continue to wage to victory our just war against genocidal terrorists and we will never stop defending ourselves.
The prime minister again warned that the International Criminal Court’s threats will not impede Israel’s actions with regard to its defense.
Netanyahu also claimed that ICC’s actions may be considered a “threat” and “would set a dangerous precedent that threatens the soldiers and officials of all democracies” opposing the terrorism.
“While the ICC will not affect Israel’s actions, it would set a dangerous precedent that threatens the soldiers and officials of all democracies fighting savage terrorism and wanton aggression,” Netanyahu added.
