EPICSTORIAN – A deadly Israeli airstrike in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, has killed at least nine charity workers and left several others critically wounded, according to the enclave’s Government Media Office.

Humanitarian Crisis and Impact After the Israeli Airstrike

Gaza’s health ministry reported that multiple injured individuals were taken to Gaza’s Indonesian Hospital. Among the dead were three journalists documenting aid efforts, the Palestinian Journalists’ Protection Center confirmed.

Hamas condemned the attack, describing it as a massacre targeting aid workers involved in humanitarian efforts at shelters and displacement centers.

“The killing of unarmed civilians providing assistance to the displaced is a clear violation of international humanitarian law,” said Ismail Thawabta, Director General of Hamas’ Government Media Office.

Israeli Military Response

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the strike targeted individuals operating a drone that posed a threat to Israeli troops.

A military statement explained that after the initial strike, additional individuals retrieved drone equipment and entered a vehicle, which was then hit.

Continued Strikes Amid Ceasefire

Military operations in the strip have persisted despite the ceasefire, with the IDF citing threats to its forces as justification for targeted strikes.

The latest attack has raised concerns over the security of aid workers operating in the region.
