Jerusalem, EPICSTORIAN – Israeli forces have successfully rescued a Bedouin hostage, Kaid Farhan Elkadi, who had been held captive by Hamas since October 7.
Elkadi, according to the force, was retrieved from an underground tunnel in Gaza where he was sent after being kidnapped by ‘Hamas terrorists’.
The operation, which unfolded in the early hours of the morning, marks It one of the successful and significant achievement for Israeli security forces, underscoring their commitment to securing safety of return of all the Israeli hostages taken since the war.
Elkadi is rescued 10 months after with he was kidnapped by Hamas:
The 52-year-old Elkadi, a member of the Bedouin Arab community, was abducted by a Hamas in a brazen attack on Israel October 7.
According to a statement by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet domestic security service, mr Elkadi’s successful rescue was secured during a “complex operation in the southern Gaza Strip”.
It added that “due to considerations of the safety of our hostages, the security of our forces, and national security” the forces may not be willing to share further details at the time.
Elkadi’s family members Visit him after he was rescued by the IDF:
The eight hostage rescued by the Israeli military is undergoing medical examination at Soroka Medical Centre, while receiving his family members who visited to see him.
Israel’s Haaretz newspaper reported that he managed to escape his captors before being rescued, and that the soldiers attempted to understand whether he had been held with other hostages.

Hatam, Elkadi’s brother, said in a press interview with Haaretz that he prayed that “all the families feel this feeling.”
“May all the hostages return, and may all the families feel this feeling,” he said.
“We’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. We hope that all hostages will get this moment, that they will all experience the same excitement and joy.
Hatam added that Elkadi, who is a father of 11 children and a grandfather from a Bedouin village in the Rahat area of the Negev desert, has long been expected to be rescued and everything was fine seeing him alive once again.
“We told him that everything is fine and that everyone is waiting for him outside,” he said.
Elkadi told BBC he was a security guard working at Kibbutz Magen, the place where he was kidnapped, which is near the Israel-Gaza border.
