The State’s spending bill was signed a few months after it was passed by members of the State House of Assembly.
According to the Director General to the Governor, on Media and Publicity, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the budget comprises 64 per cent capital expenditure and 36 per cent recurrent expenditure.
According to DailyTrust, “The signed budget is tagged “Budget of Restoration and Transformation”.
The governor, during his speech at the State government House, noted that the ultimate purpose of the budget would be to wisely use the State’s funds in line with the global economic cannons of public expenditure.
He highlighted that this is significantly going to spur effective economic activities within the state and improve the overall lives of its citizens. (3)
Speaking in a statement, Governor Yusuf said, “I want to guarantee that allocating 64% of the budget to capital projects and 36% to recurrent expenditure will positively impact the lives of the citizens.
“The total budget estimate that has been ratified today amounts to 437,338,312,787.83, with 64% allocated to capital projects totalling 379,835,94,351, and recurrent expenditure totalling 456,503,218,483.73.
