Lebanon’s Prime Minister Urges Immediate Ceasefire Amid Rising Regional Tensions and Humanitarian Concerns
Beirut, (EPICSTORIAN) – Lebanon’s caretaker prime minister, Najib Mikati, has issued a firm appeal for a ceasefire as tensions rise in the region.
Speaking at a briefing organized by the American Task Force on Lebanon, a U.S.-based lobby group, Mikati emphasized the urgent need for diplomacy over violence.

“Stop fighting. We don’t need more blood. We don’t need more destruction,” Mikati said, expressing concern over the growing instability that has gripped parts of the Middle East in recent weeks.

The Prime Minister’s appeal marks the unpredictable situation in Lebanon, a country already struggling with its own political and economic crises.
Lebanon, which shares borders with both Israel and Syria, has faced its own turmoil in recent years, including a debilitating financial collapse and waves of protests.
As violence flares up in neighboring countries, Mikati’s government is under pressure to navigate the fragile peace within its own borders.
“There is an immediate need for a ceasefire,” the Lebanese prime minister added, warning that continued conflict threatens to worsen the humanitarian crises unfolding in several parts of the region.
The American Task Force on Lebanon, which advocates for stronger U.S.-Lebanese relations, hosted the event to foster dialogue on the critical challenges Lebanon faces.
Mikati’s message was clear: the region cannot afford more bloodshed.
