This had come as a result of recent political summits among the three states leaders and, especially the last of their ongoing discussions held in December to run a federation independent of the West’s control like, “their parent-god”, Russia is seeking.
These African countries, under the leadership of Army generals who came to power by military coup campaigning for anti-west presence and policies have decided to become three African allied forces to prevent the west est from meddling in the sovereignty of their States’ affairs by any means of diplomatic delegation or political annexation.

Burkina Faso and Niger also have since the military coup successfully led by their Army generals struck various anti-west deals with Russia; and these political moves are of great concern to the member states of ECOWAS, especially Nigeria.
While the World Bank had withdrawn its disbursement to Niger, the US in response to their actions also removed the three countries from AGOA trade.
However, experts have foreseen tough and more strict measures to be taken against them by the ECOWAS Nations in the near future.
Suggestions from the foreign minister of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso, during media briefing in December 2023, confirmed that the three States see this political unification as a first step towards building a West African super military, political and economic alliance.
