Nigeria, (EPICSTORIAN) – A man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a Toyota Highlander along the Kaduna Road, authorities confirmed.
Reporting on the Toyota Highlander theft, the Niger State Police Command said in a report that, On September 4, 2024, at approximately 4:00 AM, a distress call was received regarding a home invasion in the Tudun-Wada area, near Sabon-Wuse, Tafa.
According to the official report, the assailants stole a Toyota Highlander with registration number ABJ 775 AT, along with other valuable items.

Upon receiving the report, all security checkpoints along the Kaduna road were immediately notified. The swift response paid off when the stolen vehicle was intercepted at a Customs checkpoint along Kaduna road.
The suspect, identified as Halilu Shuaibu, a 28-year-old resident of the Gwarinpa area in Abuja, was arrested at the scene.
During interrogation by the security operatives, Shuaibu revealed that the vehicle was handed over to him by a certain ‘Baba Gadas’ from Zuba, with instructions to deliver it to ‘Mubarak’ in Kaduna for disposal.
The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Minna for further investigation.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect and the vehicle are in custody as investigations continue, with the aim of prosecuting those involved.
The police statement read: “On 04/09/2024 at about 0400hrs, distress was received that some hoodlums invaded a residence at Tudun-Wada area via Sabon-Wuse, Tafa and stole a Toyota Highlander vehicle with Reg. No. ABJ 775 AT and other valuables.
“Immediately the report was received, all security posts along Kaduna road were alerted, and fortunately the said vehicle was intercepted at Customs point along Kaduna road with one *Halilu Shuaibu* 28yrs of Gwarinpa area of Abuja.
“The suspect claimed that the vehicle was given to him by one Baba Gadas of Zuba and to be taken to one Mubarak in Kaduna for disposal.
“Meanwhile, the suspect has been transferred to SCID Minna with the said vehicle for further investigation and diligent prosecution.”
