Senate chamber prepared for October 30 ministerial screening, emphasizing thorough candidate evaluation and transparent appointment processes.

EPICSTORIAN — The Nigeria’s Senate has scheduled to commence its planned ministerial screening of nominees for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s cabinet Wednesday, October 30, which was initially put off Tuesday.

The postponement by the Senate had originally been made to allow candidates more time to complete necessary documentation and pre-screening steps.

The screening, now scheduled for Wednesday, October 30, 2024 is set at 12 p.m.

The rescheduling, according to a press release by the Federal Ministry of Information and Orientation, aims to ensure all nominees are thoroughly prepared and compliant with procedural requirements before they appear before the Senate.

Officials emphasised the importance of these pre-screening activities, which are crucial for transparency and a smooth confirmation process.

“We appreciate your understanding and patience,” a Senate spokesperson said, highlighting the commitment to a fair and rigorous evaluation of each nominee.
