(EPICSTORIAN) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 105 individuals, including four Chinese nationals, for their alleged involvement in internet fraud.
The arrests occurred on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at a business apartment in the Gudu area of Abuja.
According to the EFCC’s statement shared on its official X handle on Friday, January 5, the operation is part of the commission’s ongoing crackdown on cybercrime and corruption. The suspects include 67 males and 38 females.
Four Chinese Nationals and Others Involved in a Job Scam
The agency disclosed that the individuals were allegedly linked to a hotel review job scam targeting victims and businesses in Europe and other regions.
The EFCC affirmed its commitment to prosecuting the suspects after concluding investigations. “The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigations,” the statement read.
