

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has today, Tuesday 14 November, made 6 demands from the federal government, which it says must be met for it to withdraw from embarking on a nationwide strike, and call off the already in place industrial action in Imo State.
“OUR DEMANDS ARE SIMPLE – WE WANT JUSTICE,” said the union’s press release this evening.
One of the 6 demands from the federal government, according to the Congress, include to,“.Arrest and prosecute Mr. Chinasa Nwaneri the S.A on special duties, the deadly gang leader of hope uzodimma thugs.”
This had resulted from the recent brutalization and embarrassment of the Congress Members president, Joe Ajaero, by political thugs in Imo State.
In this statement the Congress also alleged that the State’s S.A, Chinasa Nwaneri, had ‘led the attack against workers on that day.”
And again enlisting the other 6 demands, it said,“Arrest, prosecute and dismiss all police officers involved in the brutalization of NLC president and workers in Imo State.
3.Arrest and prosecute all thugs that attacked the NLC President in Imo State.
4 Arrest, prosecute and dismiss the Chief security officer Imo state government house, SP SHABA: He led , participated and provided cover for thugs to brutalize workers in Imo State
5. Arrest, Prosecute and dismiss the political area commander that led the brutalization of NLC president and other workers in Imo State
6. Investigate and prosecute the former Imo State commissioner of police cp Ahmed Barde.”
