

NNPC thumbs-down alleged plan to increase fuel price to N1200 as fake report
In response to a recent media report of a planned meeting by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) to discuss further increase in petroleum prices, the group has said there is no such agreement or development in sight. (2) increase fuel price to N1200

In a counter statement today, Olufemi Soneye, who is the NNPC commutation officer said, “NNPC Ltd emphasises it has not clashed with any party. “The Punch headline is deemed unfortunate. The publication sought confirmation on the alleged subsidy reduction, to which NNPC responded that the subsidy has been entirely removed.”
He further explained in the issued statement, that there is no upward review of PMs price review, and urged Nigerians to drivers to not engage in triggered buying. Increase fuel price to N1200

“The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd. assures the public that there is no imminent increase in the cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.
“NNPC Ltd. urges Nigerians to disregard unfounded rumours and assures them that there are no plans for an upward review of the PMS price.
