Nigeria, EPICSTORIAN – A nursing mother in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has bemoaned the Nigerian police use of teargas to disperse peaceful protesters against what they described as “End bad governance in Nigeria”.

The Nursing mother, whose name was not disclosed, according to Lindaikejiblog, said she came for the protest with her infant in her hand and had joined other protesters at Eagle Square in Abuja.

“I came to protest the hardship in Nigeria and the police are shooting tear gas at us. Do they also want to kill my baby? People cannot eat. Things are hard,” she told TheCable.

According to the woman, her husband was killed by bandits in Katsina State and this spurred her to participate in the protest.

She said the ‘police were shooting teargas at protesters gathered at Eagle Square and she questioned if they wanted to kill her baby’.

“I came to protest the hardship in Nigeria and the police are shooting tear gas at us. Do they also want to kill my baby? People cannot eat. Things are hard,” she said, according to TheCable.

The nursing mother decries high cost of consumer goods in Abuja 

She explained how she can hardly afford “3 square meals since the beginning of president Tinubu’s administration”.

“I came to protest against hardship in Nigeria, because right now me and my children can’t even afford our one-time meal for the day with N1000,” she told reporters, “and police are shooting tear gas at us.”
