According to sources, the 67-year old governor died on Wednesday morning 27 December, 2023.
However, the state government is yet to speak on the matter.
Confirmation is yet to be made from the Alagbaka Government House, as efforts to get clarification about his death has proved ineffective, sources reported
The source said, when contacted, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Richard Olabode, did not take his calls nor respond to text messages sent to his phone by one of our correspondents.(2

The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, did not take her calls to speak on the matter, PUNCH reported.
While the state political elites are yet to speak on his death, many good people of Ondo state mourn his death and hope for his deputy to emerge as his good and vision-driven successor .

Sources also claimed that, during the time of governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s life, Ondo and Ogun State Governments had planned to execute a deep-sea port and Free Zone Projects estimated at ‘$4.7bn’.
More projects by the diseased Ondo state governor included ongoing Flyover construction in Odigbo local government area, and a new promotion of 6,000 state school teachers.
Okeredolu was said to have kick-started several other projects geared towards improving the state’s economic activities and other infrastructural development.
