President Bongo of Gabon is freed from house arrest and at liberty to travel Out of the country, says the military coup leader general Brice Oligui Nguema.
“He has freedom of movement… and can travel abroad if he wishes,” Brice Oligui Nguema said in a statement read on Gabon national television.

Colonel Ulrich Manfoumbi, on Monday, reading a press release signed by Oligui Nguema as he took a formal oath of office, said, “Given his state of health, the former President of the Republic Ali Bongo Ondimba has freedom of movement. He can travel abroad if he wishes to carry out his medical checks.”

The former president of Gabon Ali Bongo, the son of Omar Bongo, having been in power for 14 years, was overthrown and put under house arrest since August 30 by his military general Brice Oligui Nguema. This military takeover, however, was carried out shortly after his party declared his re-election, which was described as fraudulent by the seditious group.
Ali Bongo’s Health:
Bongo, since October 2018, has been suffering movement difficulties in his limbs; and is currently down with major stroke.
