(EPICSTORIAN) – Pakistan’s security forces have launched a decisive counter-terrorism offensive, neutralizing 30 militants in three intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The military’s swift action, confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), targeted insurgents responsible for violent attacks against both security personnel and civilians.
The operations took place in Lakki Marwat, Karak, and Khyber Districts, where heavily armed militants were confronted and eliminated.
Among the slain extremists were key leaders, whose elimination significantly disrupted the operational capabilities of terrorist networks in the region. Security forces also seized a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition, underscoring the scale of militant planning.
30 Militants Eliminated In Strategic Military Raid
In Lakki Marwat, Pakistani forces engaged insurgents in a fierce confrontation, eliminating 18 militants and wounding six others. Meanwhile, a second operation in Karak District saw troops neutralizing eight terrorists during a deadly exchange of fire.
The third and final raid in Khyber District’s Bagh area led to the elimination of four insurgents, including prominent terrorist leaders Aziz ur Rehman Qari Ismail and Kharji Mukhlis.
“These intelligence-based operations were meticulously planned to dismantle militant strongholds and prevent further attacks,” the ISPR stated. “The military remains resolute in eradicating terrorism and safeguarding Pakistan’s security.”
Ongoing Counter-Terrorism Momentum
This latest success builds on prior counter-terrorism victories. On January 12, Pakistani forces launched dual operations in North Waziristan, eliminating nine terrorists.
In Dosalli, security personnel killed six rebels and apprehended two more, while a separate mission in Esham resulted in the neutralization of three extremists.
The operations reflect a continued military commitment to eliminating threats in volatile regions. “We are actively pursuing every militant cell operating within our borders,” a senior security official stated, emphasizing that Pakistan’s intelligence-based approach has proven effective in disrupting insurgency networks.
Eliminating High-Value Targets: Shafiullah Shafi’s Downfall
Pakistan’s military has also achieved a critical breakthrough in its counter-terrorism campaign by eliminating notorious militant commander Shafiullah Shafi.
On January 11, an intelligence-based operation in Maddi Dera Ismail Khan successfully targeted Shafi and four of his accomplices.
Security officials revealed that Shafi had orchestrated multiple high-profile attacks, making his elimination a significant blow to insurgent operations. “His removal from the battlefield weakens the militant hierarchy,” an official remarked. “It sends a strong message that no terrorist is beyond our reach.”
Weapons, Ammunition Seized: Militants’ Capabilities Diminished
A vital aspect of these operations has been the seizure of arms and ammunition, further crippling terrorist logistics. Authorities reported that the retrieved weaponry included automatic rifles, explosives, and communication devices—all intended for future attacks.
“These raids are not just about eliminating terrorists but also about dismantling their operational infrastructure,” the ISPR highlighted. “By seizing weapons, we are ensuring they cannot regroup or launch fresh offensives.”
Determined Military Strategy
In its war against extremist elements, the military’s reliance on intelligence-based operations has strengthened its ability to target insurgent cells with precision, reducing civilian casualties while maximizing militant disruption.
As the security landscape continues to develop, Pakistan’s forces remain vigilant, prepared to counter emerging threats. “Our fight against terrorism is unwavering,” an ISPR spokesperson asserted. “We will pursue every last militant until the country is secure.”
