Prince Harry loses lawsuit over loss of personal security protection
The Duke of Sussex KCVO, the son of King Charles III, Prince Harry, has lost a court confrontation against a decision by the British government to relieve him of taxpayer-underwritten protection for quitting royal obligations.
Prince Harry’s legal action against the British Home Office began in February 2020 after it had determined that he would no longer receive the “same degree” of protection when in the country,” CNN reported.
Harry’s legal counsel, according to British news agency PA Media, in December 2023 argued that the Home Office’s decision made it clear that he was “singled out” to be treated “less favourably”.
However, the court said that the decision was well justified and “not marred by procedural unfairness”. Prince Harry
A spokesperson for Prince Harry said the Duck of Sussex asks for “fair and lawful application of RAVEC’s own rules” in accordance with its own “written policy”.
“The Duke is not asking for preferential treatment, but for a fair and lawful application of RAVEC’s own rules, ensuring that he receives the same consideration as others in accordance with RAVEC’s own written policy,” he said in a document obtained by the media. Prince Harry
The prince, however, has always raised concerns about the security of his family, including comparing this to the way his wife is being treated and that of his late mother, Diana.
Harry’s mother, the late princess of Wales, Diana, died from internal injuries after a high-speed car accident in Paris in 1997. Prince Harry
