Taraba governor Agbu Kefas swears in new state judges: Image Via Punchng
The governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, swore in newly nominated judges for the state High Court and Customary Court of Appeal respectively.
At the swearing-in ceremony, which took place on Wednesday, at the Exco Chamber of the Government House in Jalingo, Kefas encouraged the appointed judges pursue fairness “in protecting the rights of the people”.
“The judiciary is the cornerstone of the society. As judges, your decisions are crucial in protecting the rights of the people.
“You must perform your duties with the utmost responsibility and professionalism. Justice should be given to people who deserve justice and not the other way round.
“Your decisions have a significant impact on the lives of citizens and efforts must be made to ensure that justice is served to all.”
Kefas also reiterated his administration’s dedication to supporting the judiciary, highlighting the importance of its role in promoting economic development and ensuring social justice, and pledged to continue providing the necessary resources for the judiciary to function effectively.

For the state High Court: Justice Justice Hamidu Audu, Justice Joel Daniel Ubandoma, and Justice Jennifer Bibonga were sworn in at the ceremony.
For the Customary Court of Appeal: Justice Benjamin Samuila Abwag and Justice Esther Tata were also sworn in by the governor.
Speaking on behalf of the newly sworn-in judges, Justice Hamidu Audu said they were prepared to fulfil their responsibilities in accordance with their oaths.
According to Punchng, the state governor also inaugurated the Taraba State Board of Internal Revenue Service, installing the retired General Jeremiah Faransa as chairman.
In his remarks, Kefas instructed the board under his leadership to innovate alternative sources of revenue for the state, highlighting that he was confident they would serve to the best of their abilities with transparency.
