Turkey conducted overnight airstrikes on sites it identified as linked to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Iraq and Syria.
The strikes came in response to an earlier armed attack on a Turkish defense company, which claimed the lives of five people.
The Turkish Defense Ministry confirmed that 32 PKK targets were destroyed during the operation.
The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by both Turkey and the United States.
The recent escalation highlights the ongoing conflict between Turkish forces and Kurdish separatist groups, particularly the PKK, which has long sought autonomy in parts of Turkey.
The attack on the defense company underscored the continued security challenges Turkey faces from militant groups, despite intensified military operations.
The Turkish government has vowed to maintain pressure on the PKK and affiliated organizations in the region.
This incident adds to the complex dynamics of the broader regional conflict, which involves multiple state and non-state actors vying for control and influence across Iraq and Syria.
