EPICSTORIAN— Sagiv Jehezkel, an Israeli football player, who showed a message on his bandaged wrist supposed to mean his support for hostages in Gaza has been suspended on Sunday by his Club during a Turkish League game, said the club officials.
Sagiv Jehezkel showed the message of “100 days, 7/10” on his bandaged wrist after scoring the equaliser for Antalyaspor in its 1-1 tie with Trabzonspor, according CNN.
Writing in statement on its official website, Antalyaspor said the 28-year-old player, Sagiv Jehezkel, had behaved in a manner that was considered to be against the “national values.” Turkish
“Our Board of Directors will never allow behaviour against the sensitivities of our country, even if it results in a championship or a cup,” it said.
In response to this claim, Turkey’s Justice Minister said on his official X handle that investigation has been launched against the player for reportedly “inciting the public to hatred and hostility.”
Following Hamas attack on Israel, on October 7, 2023, hundreds of hostages have faced difficult conditions in Gaza and today being Sunday 14 January, 2024, made it 100 days.

The Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has constantly condemned Israel’s military actions in Gaza describing the situation as “Atrocity, oppression, barbaric and massacre.”
