KYIV, EPICSTORIAN – Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi has said Ukraine has no interest in occupying Russia’s Kursk region.
Tykhyi dismissed possible assumptions regarding the reason for the earlier incursion by the Ukraine military force into the area, stating that Ukrain does not have any territorial ambitions in Russia, or its Kursk region, but only seeks to protect lives of people.
According to the Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Russia had in the past months launched more than 2,000 strikes from the Kursk region using artillery, 255 glide bombs, mortars, anti-aircraft missiles, drones, and over 100 missiles.
“Ukraine is not interested in taking the territory of the Kursk region, but we want to protect the lives of our people,” Tykhyi said.
Tykhyi said Ukraine’s clear aim of remains to the territory of Ukraine from Russia’s military aggression.
“The purpose of this operation is to preserve the lives of our children, to protect the territory of Ukraine from Russian strikes,” he stated.
Did Ukraine seek peace with Russia before the war escalation now extending into Kursk region?
Before it all turned out to become what the world now knows as Russia-Ukraine war, Ukraine consistently advocated for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve conflicts and disputes, rather than resorting to military aggression or occupation.
