  • Israeli ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, calls for resignation of the agency’s secretary general.

Jerusalem, EPICSTORIAN – Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations (UN) , Gilad Erdan, has denounced the probe suggesting nine UNRWA employees may have been involved in the October 7 invasion of Israel as “a disgrace” and “too little, too late.”

Erdan upheld the view that the UN had intentionally refused to accept Israel’s full details of “over 100 employees” of the United Nations Relief and Works agency submitted to it, which contains information of all who were involved in the October 7 incursion.

Erdan says Israel gave the UN precise details on “over 100 UNRWA employees” involved in the October 7 incursion.

He noted that Israel’s investigators identified this number of the agency’s employees as members of Hamas.

The ambassador alleges the UN probe “ignored the thousands  of agency employees involved in Hamas terrorism… Israel gave the UN precise details on over 100 UNRWA employees who are members of Hamas.”

Reminding the assembly of Israel’s evidence initially provided the UN, Erdan described “the findings of the probe are another disgrace for the UN” adding that the UN “continues to refuse to accept reality”.

“If that’s not enough, recently the secretary general decided to give UNRWA-Gaza the 2023 UN Secretary General’s Award,” he stated.

“The secretary general should resign and UNRWA should be shut down.”
