EPICSTORIAN NEWS – At least 5 children, aged 6,5,6,7, and 8 years old, have suddenly died 24 hours after they were reportedly ‘ vomiting and purging’ in a Nasarawa community.

The deceased 5 children, whose parents are peasant farmers in the Keana areas of the State, died just after complaining about stomach pains and stinging sensations in the lower abdomen.

The kids died in less than 24 hours even before they were rushed home from the farm and taken to a hospital on Monday, August 5, 2024, a report said.FBI solves shooter’s crime mystery, confirms Trump’s assassination attempt

According to a health unit in Gidinye, a community in the Jenkwe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, the cause of their death was an ‘unknown illness’.

A member of the community, who addressed himself as a leader of village, said the 5 children had left home for the farm ‘feeling and looking very healthy’ in the morning.

Shocked by the unfortunate incident, Samuel Akala, the Publicity Secretary of Migili Youth Association (MYA) who begged the Nasarawa State Government to swing into to save other children from such outbreak of an unknown deadly disease.

“The circumstances that resulted in the sudden death of these children in Idah, Gidinye community on Tuesday, 6th August calls for forensic findings,” said the the Publicity Secretary.

Akala noted two communities, Keana and Obi communities, as the areas where the new cases of disease outbreak appeared to be prevalent, appealing to the heads of Center for Disease Control to direct the unit workers to those places.

“I suggest the Center for Disease Control through PHCDA be invited to carry out disease surveillance in Keana and Obi communities where there are reported cases of acute diarrhoea, vomiting and death of children in the past few days,” Akala explained.

“I do hope this sporadic outbreak of disease does not affect a wide range of population in this part of the state while the clinical investigation lingers,” he added.
