The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office reported that emergency calls began around 10 p.m. due to noise complaints. Witnesses estimated over 100 young people were at the party when disturbances escalated before shots rang out.
“There was chaos everywhere,” a neighbor recounted. “We heard shouting, then suddenly, gunfire. People were running for their lives.”
The first reports of shots fired came at 12:24 a.m. as bullets struck nearby homes and vehicles. Deputies arrived to find a male victim outside the residence. Medics attempted lifesaving measures, but he died at the scene.
Five others, all under 21, transported themselves to local hospitals. One later died from injuries, while the remaining four are expected to recover despite severe wounds.
Residents described a volatile scene before the shooting, with reports of underage drinking, drug use, and multiple fights. “There were kids everywhere, and things were getting out of control,” a witness said.
Investigators are considering the possibility of multiple shooters. “We are piecing together what happened through witness statements and surveillance footage,” a sheriff’s spokesperson stated. “Anyone with information should come forward.”
